101. Thomas James Middlemore II was born in Los Angeles and graduated high school while in the service. He joined the Navy on March 3, 1944. After boot camp in San Diego he attended service school at the University of Kansas. He was sent overseas and assigned to the USS Boston in the pacific theater. He served through the remainder of the war and earned 2 Asiatic Pacific stars - American Area, WWII Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge on October 1, 1947 he resettled in the Los Angeles Area. He worked for Pacific Telephone and AT&T for 37 years and retired in 1984 while living in West Covina. Tom married Esther J. Schottler at the 1st Baptist Church of Palo Alto Califronia on April 6, 1947. Esther was born Esther J. Oliver in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her father was killed by a hit and run driver when Esther was about 3 years old. Her mother Ruth Oliver brought Esther and older sister Louise to California where she remarried to Lester Schottler and had another 2 daughters named Carol and Shirley.
